World Outreach Conference
Every year, TFC hosts a week-long World Outreach Conference. This year, the conference was February 4-7, and consisted of various activities, such as an overseas teachers’ panel, special Chapel services, themed food in the caf, a Mexican Feast, missions organization booths in the student center, the highly anticipated International Fair, and an international worship night.
The event officially kicked off Monday, with the first day of the missionsbooths and a panel for future teachers. The panel consisted of representatives from several missions’ organizations, such as SIM and WGM. Also featured on the panel were several schools and camps, such as Camp Nathaniel, Alliance Academy, and Sahel Academy. Senior education students were given the opportunity to ask questions about various job opportunities and what each organization could offer
By Tuesday, most of the booths were set up and lining the student center
walls. The booths consisted representatives from SIM, Inca Link, Envision Atlanta, Mission Frontier, Global Outreach Missions, WGM, Alliance Academy, WEC, Ethnos360, Camp Nathaniel, and TMS. Each booth was full of information on their organization and various mission and internship opportunities. Students were awed by the chapel service that morning, which featured the parade of flags, and guest speaker, Becca, who is a missionary in Africa.
That night, students had the opportunity to go to the international fair. The fair consisted of various international things to eat, see, and do. Included in these were a prayer tent, several photo booths, an area that Envision Atlanta set up as a refugee tent, a Henna station, games, dancing, and music. A few missionaries also had booths set up. Russia, Senegal, and Thailand were just a few of the many countries represented.
On Wednesday, the student center booths were still open, giving students an
opportunity to check out anything they might have missed before. Chapel consisted of another flag parade, and a guest speaker to talk about Latin America. To bring things to a close, there was a powerful worship night in the chapel. Students had the opportunity to worship in several different languages, and a chance to learn about and pray for missionaries. Overall, the international fair was a huge success, allowing students to learn about missions and start to experience the international church.
